Youth Beef Heifer Initiative

The Youth Beef Heifer Initiative is sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America (FCMA) and the Tennessee Cattlemen's Association (TCA). The Youth Beef Heifer Initiative empowers youth to build on their interest by purchasing a heifer, improving genetics, and learning what is involved in cattle production. Each year, TCA and FCMA partner to provide a total of $9,000 in scholarships. Six deserving youth will be awarded either $2,000 (1st place) or $1,000 (2nd place) to purchase a heifer from a TCA member and Tennessee beef cattle producer.

The application period is closed. Check back in September 2025 for the 2026 application.
